Isn't Bradford the cutest little farmer ever!!! Cali and Bradford both loved 'Little hands on the Farm' at the fair. It was honeslty the best part for us, oh and those tractors!!! How cute are those.

Wow!! It really is the biggest fair!! We couldn't even see it all in one day! But thats all the time we had so I guess we will have to go again next year and see the other half! And of course get something on a stick to eat-because everything at the fair comes on a stick!! Even pork chops!! Go figure!

We wanted to share our most recent family photos we took at the Waterworks Park here in Des Moines. The experience was amazing, there were endless rows of blooming trees of varying colors and hues.

Calista loved dressing up in her newest spring dress and hide among the flowers. She is adorable; more so when she is not running away from us as fast as she can yelling "you can't catch me..."

Bradford loves being outside! Even the shortest excursions we make outdoors get him in a groovy mood. Here he is enjoying the floral arangements the trees provided. We can't wait until we get to take him outdoors for our next activity; he is growing up sooo fast.

Alison and I wanted to get some "us" photos, so we let Calista run around the park (we had to keep reminding her to stay close and not to pick all of the flowers), and Bradford was chilling in the stroller (he doesn't know what to think about grass yet, and just cries when he is on the green pokey stuff.

Finally Bradford is crawling!! I love it, he is soo super cute crawling around. I thought he would absolutely love crawling, because he could get around, but NO he really really wants to WALK! I'm sure that will happen soon......Oh, poor Cali she doesn't even know what she is in for....hahaha...attach of the baby brother...

Now that we have figured out what to do with our time when the kids are sleeping, we have decided to come out and share it. SweetlyDone is now up and running. Now you can check out what Alison is spending her time creating. If anyone has anything they would like to challenge us to create, just let us know. The tough part is trying to get all the pictures organized and put them up on the internet to share with others... there are so many, but I think I am keeping up with her now. I especially enjoy the extra time we spend with each other in the evenings.

Today was FINALLY a windy!! So we could go and fly the awesome kites and Grandpa and Grandma Shelton sent to us last week!! Cali has be waiting and waiting and begging and begging to fly them, but there has just been no wind, UNTIL today. So first thing this morning we bundled up and headed to a school park across the street and had a great time flying kites in the wind and rain.

Bradford loved to see the kites fly over his head, he would get soo excited, but he was a bit cold.

Bradford's first hair cut

Well, we had to give Bradford his first hair cute this past week! Oh, I totally cried. He had the darkest, softest, super cute curly hair ever! And now its all gone. We had to do it it kept getting pulled when we put his helmit on and took it off. Maybe it will grow back, but oh it was so cute!

So here is the little heart throb with his new hair cut! Oh, he is handsome:)

This is Christmas Eve!

Alison, Bradford and our friend Kristy Fox, on Christmas Eve. Our friends the Fox family invited us over for Christmas Eve dinner and they do something super special and super fun. They dress up and eat food just like what Christ would have eaten, olives, unleavened bread, hummus, grapes, juice, etc and they eat on the floor. I loved it and I think we will make it a tradition that we do too.

Candy Corn Toss

We love DMU!! The Thursday before Halloween the school Michael is attending held a Halloween Carnival especially for families with little kids. So we got all dressed up and had lots of fun. Cali liked ring toss, bowling and painting her pumpkin. I loved it because they handed out cute little toys instead of lots of candy!!

The saturday before Halloween we all went to the Blank Park Zoo for their fun Halloween Night Eyes event. Cali loved seeing all the animals especially the lions, monkeys and the pink flamigos. But most of all she loved seeing her two favorite princesses Cinderella and Snow White. She also meet Clifford the Big Red Dog, went through a haymaze with daddy and matched her hand up to a lions paw!! It was a fun day, filled with lots of animals and candy. Bradford had fun but mostly slept silly little bear.

Oh, the treats we have at our house!! I can't believe the candy and goodies we have...Yeah but you all know I love them. Cali and I are going to be so sick of candy!) Well, we had a great time with Halloween this year. Calista was Cinderella (of course) actually she is Cinderella everyday. I really think that her costume was a great investment-she has worn it everyday since we got it three weeks ago!! Bradford was a warm snuggly bear.

So fall is in full swing here at our house we have played in and crunched the leaves, gone to a pumpkin patch and corn maze, decorated halloween cookies (thanks again for the cookie cuters grandma and grandpa! Cali loves them). And now we have carved our pumpkins! If you can't tell what Cali's is it is Blue from Blue's Clues.

Well, it was a shocker to see snow so soon! But we sure had it Saturday morning. First thing Cali wanted to go right out side and play in it, so after hot cocoa and snowpants that is what we did.

Cali is super ready and excited for snow but I definitly am not. I soon will be if this is how early winter comes here. Everyone keeps telling us that this year is going to be a very long winter! We definitly need to get more warm clothing-or just plan to stay in our warm little apartment all winter.... Hope you enjoy the pictures of the snow!

Beehive cake

Well, my cake practicing continues! I love it and am going to try and do a cake each week! So this week I did a beehive cake. Of course I can't eat all this cake-Cali would LOVE to though, so I took it to church to share with the youth for their Wednesday night activity. I hope they enjoyed it.

Well, my little one is four months old now!! I can't believe he is getting soo old...hahaha. Lets see he had dark eyes I think they will look like Michaels, no teeth-yet, dark hair-but that is falling out :( I think it is going to come back in light like Calista's hair. I love his dark hair so I will be sad if it comes in blond. Also, he is wearing 9 month clothes... the little hunky chunk! At the doctors office Bradford weighted 18 pounds!! No joke here, he is a little hunk! Bradford loved to smile and blow raspberries at me and to grab at toys. He doesn't roll over yet. Oh, and he still loves to cuddle. Oh, he is my little sweetheart!

Corn Maze Adventure

This past Saturday we took a fun break as a family and visited a corn maze! I know who would have guested that Iowa had corn! Hahaha. We went with a group of students who also go to DMU and their families.We had so much fun getting lost and running through corn. Cali even made a little friend!

First day of Preschool

Cali's first day of preschool!! I know I can't believe it either!! My little girl is growing up way to fast. But isn't she soo cute with her princess bag? She had so much fun at preschool she didn't want the day to end and she definitly wanted to go back the next day. Here is how her preschool works: five other mothers in my ward got together and are doing our own little preschool with our 3 year olds every wednesday morning. We learn recognition and sounds of letters, colors, shapes, social skills, we have a fun craft and theme for each month. It is really fun! I can see why Cali likes it.

Well, here are some more pictures!!! We are all still having fun, nothing new to report. Yesterday Cali, Bradford and I went to ride the Carisol one last time! So much fun, Cali went on a horse and a giraffe. She loved it. Bradford is just big and fun! He is starting to sing along with us when we sing to him and wiggle around like he is trying to dance!! Oh, my kids are so dancy! Also, today is started to swing his bum over like he was trying to roll over!! I can't wait for him to roll over. Calista starts her little preschool this week, just on Wednesday mornings, she is super excited. Five other ladies in my ward have gotten together and formed a little rotating preschool for our kids that are three this year. So each week the kids will go to a different house for school so the other moms will get a break. I am really excited about it. Hopefully I won't be overwhelmed when I have five little 3 year olds at my house! Yikkies-what am I thinking....

White Coat Ceremony and other fun

Des Moines University is such a great school with lots of traditions and activities! Michael is just loving it. Last saturday DMU and their alumni honor the first year students at a ceremony called the White Coat Ceremony, it is a time to welcome the new students to the medical profession and the university. So here are a few pictures of us and Michael looking sharp in his white coat!

Also we had the great opportunity to visit Omaha and the Winter Quarter temple. What an amazing place! Calista loved the temple and she got so excited to see Moroni with his trumpet on top! It was also extra special because I know that some of my ancesters came through and stayed at Winter Quarters on their way west. There is just so much history here!! I can't wait to visit other church sites. Cali found the perfect hand cart to pull her bear in! She is ready to go west!

Lets see, Bradford is doing great! He is just over 16 pounds-what a little tank. We are thinking of changing his name to Bradford 'the tank' Shelton! Hahaha. Just joking. But seriously my arms are getting a workout carrying him around. He still loves to cuddle and he is starting to smile and coo alot! I can't wait until he starts to giggle and laugh.

Des Moines

We have been in Des Moines, IA for about at month now and we LOVE it here!! Our apartment is perfect for us and everything is set up and organized. Michael starts school tomorrow-Monday, he is very excited, we all our. I just can't believe we are actually here-in the Physical Therapy program he wanted to get into!! This past week he had a full week of orientation so he is ready to go. Only three years to go and then we are finally done with school!

Let see, our apartment is located about 5 minutes from school and ony a minute from a great little lake, Grays Lake. The lake has a park, swim area, a paved walking trail all the way around it and you can rent paddle boats. We go there often it is a great place to walk and then let Cali play. Calista is making good friends here already, there are about 12 kids in nursery!!(I'm so glad I'm not in there) She also loves her play room, we decided that one room would have to be dedicated to toys-and it is such a blessing, she could spend all day in there playing!!

Bradford is getting to be a very big boy!! And he is finally starting to smile. He is still cuddly and he also is starting to bat at toys and play a little! I can't believe he is getting so big.

Also, last weekend we went to a Balloon festival in a little town about 30 minutes away from Des Moines. Oh, it was so cool, there were over 100 balloons that took off. We had a fun adventure. We are sure to have many more adventures so I will keep posting and putting up pictures.

Bradford James Shelton

Born May 25, 2009 at 3:24 pm; 8 pounds 6 ounces and 20.5 inches long and he is beautiful. Bradford was born with a full head of dark brown hair. We are happy to have that chapter behind us and now we enjoy spending our time recovering as a family. Calista has really taken to being the big sister and looks after him quite well - we have been impressed at her gentle hands. Eight weeks until DMU starts and we are counting down the days until classes begin.

Alison and I are enjoying long walks together in the evenings for exercise and alone time. It seems spending time with just the two of us will never happen on its own again without proper preparation; we will survive.

Mexico

Michael and I took a much needed fun vacation to Cancun, Mexico a few weeks ago! We love it, it was hot, sunny and tons of fun! We spent two days on the beach-thankfully we did not get burned-thanks to a month of tanning and SPF 50. Before we left we were recommended an LDS tour-Helaman Tours to use for visiting the archeological sites. On the tour we visited Chitzen Itza, and saw one of the seven wonders of the world-the big pyramid-that was awesome!!! We really recommend doing this tour if anyone ever goes down there. We also swam in a Cenote-a sink hole in the limestone ground down to an underground river-you have to see the pictures of that it was the coolest thing. Let's see, we missed Cali a ton but she was living the life with Grandma and Grandpa Davies-she had way to much fun to even miss us!! Oh, Michael really got into bartering it was like a game to him, I didn't like it but I did benefit from his efforts with some nice jewlery. Oh, and we went snorkeling!!!
